back to Doing Your Own Homework

Although there is no guaranteed way to ensure that we're sending you to an absolutely, positively, pristine Web site's page for end-user testing of various functions concerning your browser...as you sit there all cross-eyed, hunched over a hot computer, we can promise to do our best, to do our duty, not to add to your confusion, not to send you to commercial sites, unless there's a reputable shareware site, like Kagi (ah, ah, ahh...google it yourself...the dog didn't eat your homework...do you even have a doggie?), and to always provide a snapshot of what we've found, so you can quickly read, click, and test...JW

Testing for Cookies

As of August 19, 2003 there are two links, one from Good Housekeeping/iVillage (info for Netscape & Internet Explorer), and the University of British Columbia, Canada, where you can go after setting your browser (IE or Netscape, maybe even AOL), check your cookie settings, and then get on with other business. Note: any misuse or other funny business, like complaints from techs maintaining the very servers where these pages and informational helpers are located, and we'll have to pull the appropriate link or links (like a virtual plug), wash our hands, and slowly shake our heads, wondering why people have to make so much mischief in this world...JW

To Accept or NOT to Accept

Try going to your browser's preferences, setting your browser to ONLY accept cookies that go back to the originating server, AND be sure to check the box that allows you to be WARNED before accepting a cookie. Then visit the link (accept the site's single cookie) located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest below...(should get "error" message only if you refuse all cookies)
